I want to give you a 0
I want to give you a 0, but that’s not possible, so I give you a 1.
Booked an ItIsOn spa deal for 2 at the Inchyra Hotel. A 55 minute treatment each for 2 people for £99. Both of us picked a full body massage. One got a full body massage and the other got back, neck, shoulders and backs of legs.
Complained to ItIsOn who offered a 10% off code, not good enough. Escalated to a manager who offer £10 gift voucher, no thanks - won’t be using company again.
ItIsOn have said the hotel won’t issue refund as the issue wasn’t raised with the spa at the time of the treatment… We didn’t know how different the massages were until we discussed our experience afterwards.
Contacted Macdonald hotels, no reply.
Rubbish experience and even worse customer care. Save your money and go to the Blythswood instead.

The MacDonald Portal Hotel and Golf…
The MacDonald Portal Hotel and Golf Tarporley is fantastic! The staff are so so helpful nothing is too much trouble and everything was spot on! Thank you to everyone there for a truly fabulous hotel experience. Keep doing what you do so well
I’ve just booked for four of us to go…
I’ve just booked for four of us to go to the Windsor Macdonalds hotel in October and the reason I am writing is to compliment two of your lovely staff who took the booking for me yesterday. Their names were Jack and Jen. I had to ring several times due to booking for two different couples and they were both so polite and helpful. You should be very proud of your staff and I’d be grateful if you would pass on my thanks to them both.

My husband and I have a 2 night stay…
My husband and I have a 2 night stay last month at the Macdonald hotel in Bath. We have been several times before but not for a few years now. We were not disappointed. Their attention to detail was outstanding. Everyone was very professional, caring and welcoming. They could not do enough to make our stay pleasurable and it met all our previous expectations. From the front desk staff, spa staff, chamber staff and restaurant staff. Everyone played their role extremely well and we were well looked after. I am so pleased we have booked to return next weekend. I am confident all our needs will be catered for and we will have another memorable experience. Well done to everyone. These are very challenging times for the hospitality industry but Macdonald Hotels appear to be coping very well and professionally in the current climate. Warmest congratulations to you.
Fantastic staff
Was here for a special spa weekend with 20 others, the staff were amazing especially Farid, who was running around sorting out everything and Andrew and Matthew who sorted out some amazing things out for us. The spa staff were fantastic also, the new manager was awesome she and the fantastic tattoo man (can't remember their names, sorry) were so helpful even though they were short staffed. The lady that did my facial was amazing.

Stayed here for 3 nights
Stayed here for 3 nights starting on a Friday
Wedding in progress that night ok not a problem or so we thought
Booked a table for an evening meal was what I can only describe as a rip off to be polite minimal amount of food which was overpriced and took two hours for three courses and we had to chase them for food and drinks I would not recommend it at all
As for the wedding we’ll just loved being kept awake by music till gone 1am
Then there’s another wedding on the Saturday evening again gone 1.30am with music then fighting heard followed by the bride drunk and lost her husband at 4am shouting in corridors
As for the rooms clean and tidy but needs a total revamp. bathroom again tired looking and just worn out
I most certainly would not stay here again nearly £500 for three nights bed and breakfast again breakfast was at best what you can get in any local cafe not at all up to standard don’t waste your money is my advice
Stressful and very expensive 1 night away.
1 night stay McDonald Hotel Aberfoyle. 2 adults superior room. Room in the attic clostaphobic basic room, got moved to larger basic room. Not for unfit due to numerous stairs. Not cheap to, now looking at web page not far off 5 day stay in flats so totally ripped off. Menu poor choice quality of food poor. Staff amazing obviously short staffed . Massage ok but pricey paid as experienced Only to be shouted at by hotel staff at checkout in front of guest bill hadn't been paid.Wont be back?

Stayed at Crutherland House Hotel on…
Stayed at Crutherland House Hotel on 20th May. Booked an overnight spa night for my friend's 70th birthday. Room a disgrace for a supposed 4star Hotel. Large water stain on wall over radiator, splash marks on wall next to bed, wallpaper peeling off in bedroom. In bathroom, cracked sink, plaster on ceiling burst, toilet flush loose, rust on bath and accessories. Evening meal service poor, brought main meal out just when we got starters, sent back and when returned was warm (obviously had just sat under heat lamp)but not hot unable to finish meal as had got cold!!
Unable to offer room change, voucher for afternoon tea given! Have contacted customer service at head office, no response.

had a double room with 2 beds and both…
had a double room with 2 beds and both mattresses were severely dipped in the centre do you rolled together so a room for 4 people had 2 off everything towels cups etc not for 4 people. Had breakfast awful coffee it y have been in the flask for hours and was luke warm the toasting machine to make your own toast took that long we had 1 side not toasted. so order a latte and was charged £4.20 for it. went to the spa the steam room out of order but with no sign detailing that. booked afternoon tea for 2pm it came at 2.35pm the milk for the tea came at 2.55pm and it just went worse from them on our sandwiches were crusty, scones burnt and covered in icing sugar to cover it up. we ordered chips to come as well which we sent back as they were stone cold another half hour later the last one portion of afternoon tea eventually came out. the manager was called and she said the sandwiches were fresh even though she felt them.

Spoilt a lovely spa weekend
Spoilt a lovely spa weekend, the hotel was cold , breakfast was average , the spa was very disappointing, nobody explained the procedure, the steam room and cold room were out of order, so only the sauna was working but not enough room for all our party, afternoon tea was a disgrace and not fit for human consumption, cold fries, stale bread, burnt scones, cold tea, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Left early
Room was tiny and not clean. Freezing cold too and had to resolve heating with manager who was helpful. The full English breakfast was really mediocre. We decided to feed to dogs on three morning's and had some cereal. Actually left a day early even though we paid for four nights as there was no point in prolonging the unpleasantness for a bad breakfast.

Golf weekend, 22-24th May,2022
Hotel and Golf Courses were both in excellent condition and Staff and cleanliness friendly and obliging. The only downfall was the cost of sandwiches and Bar Prices. It was cheaper to eat and drink in Town

Lovely staff
Myself, husband and two children had a two night stay at the Portal Hotel and spa Tarporley for a wedding. Whilst there were problems with our hotel room door and an incident with a lock on a bathroom door; I could not fault the staff who did there upmost to make our stay a pleasurable one. Lauren, a very friendly member of the bar staff attended to us brilliantly the night before the wedding & Virag sorted another room out for us. Whilst the hotel itself requires some investment the staff made this stay a lovely one. I would recommend.
Had this day booked for a while
Had this day booked for a while, and was really looking forward to a relaxing day with a friend. Arrived, and got given a questionnaire to fill out. Got given our bath robes, slippers & towel and were quickly shown where everything was. Decided to have a coffee before the relaxation began....had to ask where we could get the coffee! , got told it was in the Sports Bar. A young lad , bless his heart , was doing most of the work, and eventually took our order. Was shocked that the coffee was not free, everywhere i have had spa days previously...things like this were always included...anyway....we went and got ready for the pool....what a disappointment...NO JACUZZI, what spa has no jacuzzi ?....spent a little time in the pool...then went to get ready for our booked back massage. Myself saw a nice young lady named Aysun (i think) my friend had a polish or russian ( she thinks) lady. My lady was lovely and massage was ok...not the best i have had..but ok. I thought it strange as other spa days i have been on , they go through what lotions & potions they have used so you know if you want to purchase some. But no, nothing was mentioned. My friend, however said her lady didn't speak two words to her the whole half hour !
Had to buy another coffee as we had time to kill before our booked cream team . Asked a lady for something , and she said ' ohhh, has he not brought that over, he is new'....obviously talking about the poor young chap who we first saw...i did reply ' to be fair, he does seem to be the only one, serving the few customers that were in there as well as clearing tables etc' ... i disliked the way she tried to put the blame on the 'new boy' for lack of things getting done...shame on her!
Then the cream tea arrived...well, where do i start....did not get a choice of fillings ( admittedly we were asked if there were any allergies)...did not get asked if we wanted fruit or plain scones...etc
It all arrived, and was not too badly presented...but....the sandwiches were not fresh ...bread was dry , fillings were egg, tuna, ham & tomatoe and cheese & onion sandwich spread. The scones were fruit one's ( neither my friend nor I like fruit one's) so asked if they had plain scones. Got told when we booked we should of asked for plain scones ! Weird we didn't get a choice. The scones were dry & tiny..glad we didn't want them. The 3 cakes, a miniature chocolate cake, mini cream slice and some little bakewell cake ( looked like a mr kipling one just cut in half)....were all dry.
We were really looking forward to our day and to be perfectly honest , it was not worth the money . And to top it all my friend needed a receipt and what a palaver that was....the 4 young persons on reception really were not bothered and their customer skills really do need addressing.
Very dissapointed and we will not return nor will we recommend anyone to this place. In actual fact , if any of my friends , family or even patients at work mention spa days i will tell them to avoid here at all costs....?
